An incredible five act 60s ROCK ‘N ROLL REVIVAL comes to the Barbara B Mann PAH on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 7:00 pm. Here is a blurb on each of the acts:
The Brooklyn Bridge formed on Long Island when Johnny Maestro, lead singer of the Crests, joined forces with the Del-Satins (Dion’s singers). Johnny had already had hits with the Crests (“Sixteen Candles,” “The Angels Listened In” and “Step by Step”) which the Bridge continue to perform. The Bridge had a massive hit, “The Worst That Could Happen,” as well as “Welcome Me Love,” “Blessed is the Rain” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” Original members Jim Rosica and Joe Ruvio continue the great musical Bridge tradition and lead singer Joe Esposito is one of the greatest singers on stage today.
The Happenings had four smash gold records in the 60s. Known for their rich harmonies and upbeat tempos, their “sunshine pop style” comes through on “See You In September” (international #1 hit and still ranked in the top 100 “summer songs” in pop history), “I Got Rhythm,” “Go Away Little Girl” and “My Mammy.” Original lead singer Bob Miranda will bring the audience to their feet, especially during his “Proud to be an American” tribute to veterans.
The Duprees are known worldwide for their beautiful love songs. Hits include “You Belong to Me,” “Have You Heard,” “Why Don’t you Believe Me” and “My Own True Love.”
Brian Hyland was 16 when his “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” was a #1 smash hit, and the teen idol toured with Dick Clark’s Caravan of Stars. Other hits include “Sealed with a Kiss” and “Gypsy Woman.” Hyland, a New York City native, now resides in Florida.
Michael D’Amore is another New York/New Jersey native who now resides in Southwest Florida. Known world-wide as the lead singer of the Capris (“There’s a Moon Out Tonight”), he was recently featured on PBS’ Doo Wop Pop and Soul Generations. Michael is one of the greatest singers in the world today.
Five great acts, one great night of countless hits bringing the audience back to wonderful memories of their lives in the unforgettable 60s!
